Applied Ecology & Conservation Science
Applied Ecology addresses our understanding of nature and uses it to answer real-world questions. This becomes increasingly important within Conservation Science where we aim to prevent species, habitats, and ecosystems from extinction.
Current research directions include:
-
Assessing the impact of current LED technologies on bat activity
-
Conservation of the white-clawed crayfish (Austropotamobius pallipes)
-
Conservation of the sandhill dunnart in Australia (Sminthopsis psammophila)
-
Use of environmental DNA and bioacoustics to detect endangered white-clawed crayfish (Austropotamobius pallipes) populations
